Project descriptionIn-Mouraria's objective is to fight for the rights of people who consume drugs and are exposed to risks and health hazards, facilitating access to medical product, testing and to means of diagnosis enhancing the quality of life of those infected or vulnerable to HIV infection. The volunteer will have a direct impact on the target group by providing social support, materialVolunteer will work with a holistic team of social workers, health staff, peer workers and community leaders to help prepare, implement and evaluate the following activities: Social inclusion and integration of vulnerable groups and individuals; Elaborating, dissemination and promotion of informative materials, HIV testing and HIS awareness in different settings; Research with different institutes and organisations; Workshops on health issues, cinema sessions etc.; Social intervention work related to HIV/AIDS prevention and treatments, encouraging best practices in health care, advocating for legal and policy changes.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangementsWe offer: Accommodation under suitable living conditions; Pocket money and individual support for food; Briefing on various kind of information (traffic rules, public transportation system); Assistance in purchasing the transport card with the appropriate type of tariff. Each volunteer will be accompanied by a tutor in their respective entities, a mentor (independent from the organizations involved in the project) and the coordinator who will be available to all the volunteers and will have weekly meetings and take appropriate actions if necessary and if there is any negative situation.
Training during the projectClube will facilitate the registration for the trainings offered by the National Agency. There will also be a welcome week upon arrival of the volunteers where we will introduce the European Solidarity Corps, this project in general and where we will hear from each volunteer their expectations in terms of training so we can answer apropriately. We will give each volunteer the opportunity and assistance for the development of a personal project and will closely monitor their integration in each organization so that the volunteers have a true training and competence development experience.
