Project descriptionThis ESC volunteering project (volunteering teams) will last for 4 weeks and it will include 30 young volunteers from 9 different participating countries, in a small town of Samobor in Croatia to support and help out in the local community in organizing an international meeting of 2 CV friends (world meeting of friends of Citroen 2CV that has a goal of preserving cultural and historic value of automotive industry). Meeting lasts from 30.7. – 4.8.2019. and to be included in the preparation process as well as in the action phase after the world meeting, volunteers will arrive 12 days before on 18.7.2019. and stay 10 days after, until 15.8.2019.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangementsVolunteers will be accommodated in Hostel Samobor, fully equipped to accommodate high number of guests with appropriate bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, with fridge and all necessary gadgets, dining room, working space, washing machines that volunteers can use, free Wi-Fi, chillout space with TV, etc. Three meals per day will be provided by the organization, partially prepared by the hostel and partially by the volunteers. Volunteers will also receive pocket money, Money for the travel to and from the venue will be reimbursed after the activity in the maximum amount of 275€.
Training during the projectInternational team of young people from 9 countries will enrich the local community, develop its' capacities for implementing a cultural event for thousands of people, develop its' awareness of EU possibilities that specifically support the topic of solidarity through volunteering. Volunteers will during their 4 week volunteering work and live in an multicultural, multilingual and dynamic team and prepare, lead and supervise many different activities connecting to the preparation, organization, implementing and after re-setting and evaluating the big cultural event.
Volunteer profileMotivated youngsters aged 18 to 29, no previous experience or education needed. No differences will be made based on gender, religion, race, etc. and priority will be given to marginalized and young people facing difficulties such as unemployment, educational or social obstacles, coming from NEET category. All applicants will be given equal opportunity and no previous experience or knowledge on the topic will be asked from them, since the aim is that they gain new skills, competences and additional knowledge through their participation in the volunteering project.
