ProjektbeschreibungInfo-Integration - Belgian Red Cross is the reference centre for migration and integration in the German speaking Community of Belgium. Our main tasks are: - the consultation of clients on topics such as right of residence and residency permits, right to international protection, family reunification, etc. - the supervision of the participants of the Integration Pathways in the German-speaking Community of Belgium - awareness campaigns and public relations - counselling and supervision of schools with focus on diversity and interculturality - workshops and trainings
Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und ReisekostenOur office is located in Eupen, a small city close to the German border, with about 19.000 inhabitants. The accommodation will be in Eupen as well. There are many other volunteers in different projects here and our volunteer will share a flat with a volunteer of another project. A subscription to the local public transport network will be provided. There will be no food provided by the office but the volunteer will have an allowance to buy their own food.
Fortbildung im Rahmen des ProjektsThe volunteer will participate in the On Arrival and Mid Term Training sessions organized by the national agency. The volunteer also has the possibility to attend various trainings by the Belgian Red Cross. They will also have the possibility to attend trainings related to the topics of integration and migration organized by our office or other local institutions.
FreiwilligenprofilHaving an open mind regarding other people and other cultures is very important for our choice of volunteer. In addition to that, the volunteer should have particular interest in the topics of migration, asylum and displacement. Other criteria, such as nationality, gender or religion play a minor role in our selection, but speaking German(B2) is a must! Concerning the age of the volunteer, we will prefer candidates who are older and more mature. For this role, we will need someone who is able to bring school or work experience into the role and understands the concept of professional distance.
