Solidarity Sport Palestine seeks UK-resident volunteers
The application deadline has passed.
Project descriptionParticipants in Solidarity Sport will take part in six months volunteering projects in Palestine in which they will work alongside trainers to deliver sport and life skills sessions for disadvantaged Palestinian young people and women, and support the work of Palestine Sports for Life (PS4L), a national charity based in Ramallah. The project will focus on engaging people from refugee communities and other marginalised people, for whom sports offers a rare opportunity for self-expression and personal growth. The objectives of the project are to support the delivery of high-quality community development activities around Ramallah with sports as a cross-cutting theme, strengthen links between people and organisations in Palestine and in Europe, build the life skills of vulnerable Palestinians, and enable the personal and professional development of the project participants, our volunteers.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangementsParticipant's accommodation, food and transport expenses are all funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme. Participants will live in apartment-style accommodation in Ramallah, likely with the other two volunteers on the Solidarity Sport Palestine project. They will be fully inducted in the safe navigation of local transport.
