Activity descriptionONLY YOUNG PEOPLE WHO CAN SPEAK FRENCH, GERMAN AND ENGLISH CAN APPLY. ALL OTHER APPLICATIONS WILL BE IGNORED. This offer is part of the "Interreg Volunteer Youth" (IVY) initative which gives the possibility to young EU citizens aged 18-30 to serve as volunteers in cross-border, transnational or interregional programmes and related projects. The volunteer will volunteer at the University of Strasbourg for the Interreg project “RARENET”, which is a tri-national network for education, research & management of complex and rare diseases in the Upper Rhine Region. In particular, the volunteer will: -help developing & translating educational tools for children & students on the basis of existing games already created by RARENET; -imagine & develop an innovative action in cooperation with the team; -help the team managing social media accounts; -contact & meet the partners especially patient support groups. Scientific knowledge in biology is welcome.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangementsThe volunteer will receive 26 EUR/day for the whole duration of the volunteering period. This financial support is intended to cover the necessary expenses such as accommodation, food and transports. The volunteer is responsible for finding his/her own accommodation. The volunteer will receive some additional money to cover for his/her travel costs from home place to host place. This is not a reimbursement but a lump sum based on the km distance from home place to host place.
Training during the activityThe volunteer will receive an "Info Pack" with documents and useful information about the EU, Interreg and his/her experience as IVY volunteer. Moreover, the volunteer will attend a compulsory pre-departure call on Skype with the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR), the coordinating organisation. Then he/she will get appropriate guidance by the host organisation.
Participant profileONLY young people between 18 and 30 years old who can speak French, German and English fluently. Communication skills & an interest in health & biology matters are required. Applicants who do not meet these basic requirements will be automatically ignored.
