Project descriptionThe project will last 12 months, starting approx. mid-March/ beginning of April 2019. One part of Impact Hub's activities is running a co-working & event space for people that create a world that works for all. The volunteer will be working closely with the Space & Bookings team on activities such as: •Organising events with diverse partners •Do regular space checks, preparation for events & working on improvements with the space & events team •Support the set up and coordination of the diverse range of meetings, workshops, catering areas & events •Answering questions and helping out with space & event-related requests/inquiries •Support the management of the space, maintaining an inviting & inspiring place for people to connect by meeting & working together •Welcoming members, bookers & visitors, introducing the idea & context of Impact Hub •Helping to set the right atmosphere & vibe •Communicate event opportunities using our online group of 600+ members
Accommodation, food and transport arrangementsAn allowance for accommodation, food and pocket money will be provided. Travel expenses (return ticket) will be reimbursed according to Erasmus+ rules after arrival to Vienna and after receiving all copies of boarding passes and other tickets. Yearly ticket for the public transportation in Vienna will be provided. We are also happy to fund a German course in addition to the Online Learning Support provided by Erasmus+ if this is of interest.
Training during the projectApart from having a direct mentor & access to the full offer of monthly workshops)at Impact Hub Vienna, the volunteer has the chance to develop an own project. The project will be co-designed with the Impact Hub Team and can be something that has personal relevance according to the volunteer’s personal passion or interests but is also connected to the overall mission and operations of the Impact Hub. Volunteer profile• Between 18 and 30 years old • Knowledge of English language preferred • German is most welcome but not a must. Language course will be provided, upon request. • Experience as receptionist, in hospitality, tourism and / or event management is an advantage but not required • Self-starter, hands-on, with good communication skills, willing to help • Curious & willing to learn • Interested in social entrepreneurship, startups & co-working is a plus • Pro-active, communicative & motivated • Experience in community building is an advantage • Positive energy • Enjoys working in a team
