„Time to move“ through the eyes and ears of youngsters
October is an extraordinary time for all of us. Not only because it's my first Europe's Voluntary Service month in Croatia, not only because recently „Udruga ZUM“ launched their first EVS project but also because of our successful „Time to move 2016“ campaign that attracted attention and changed mindsets for the many youngsters in Pazin, Poreč, Rovinj and Pula.
In the last few weeks „Udruga ZUM“ team has visited several schools in Istria and met many high school students to share our knowledge and personal experience related to Erasmus+ opportunities, especially regarding Youth exchange and EVS. After the numerous questions and loud applauses from the audiences one is clear, the interest and the awareness of taking part in international projects has risen.
Even if most of the meetings started with a little scepticism and confusion from the listeners, till the end of the presentation „the ice was broken“ and we where pleased to receive the positive feedback in a way of active discussions, common „Happy Birthday“ singing and collective picture taking.
As per my EVS volunteer eyes and ears „Time to move 2016“ project was remarkable experiance to get familiarized with the local environment and community. To be as an inspiration to others and to be inspired by other Erasmus+ stories was one of the main values gained during the campaign.
Heads up Europe because it is time to move!
