"Transmedia Espíritu Santo Festival” (Transmedia Holy Spirit Festival) took place on 20th, 21st and 22nd April in “Pabellón Polivalente” (Pavilion) in the neighborhood Espíritu Santo in Espinardo (Murcia) and was organized by the association Medialab Esperítu Santo and Urban Espíritu Santo —european project fuelled by the Murcian City Council within the framework of the Urban Initiative and cofinanced by ERDF (European Regional Development Found.)— MediaLab Espíritu Santo is an young organization and for youngsters born right after an intensive training program within the Urban Initiative developed in Espinardo. Its tasks are training, prospecting and broadcasting business models in the audiovisual field.
During those days this Festival showed the creative trends and business models in Technology and Digital creation. The planning included presentations of companies generating virtual reality contents (VR); Round Tables discussing new audiovisual scenarios and transmedia contents; the event “Murcia VR” and a fair where exhibitors (mainly companies of youngsters in Spain, Portugal, or Latin America) showed the technological innovations in the VR field.
The greatest significant event fully organized by the Association “MediaLab Espíritu Santo”, was the prize “Premio Murcia VR”, Best Experience in Spanish, of 5,000 Euros in order to boost innovative and quality projects in the virtual reality sector. The renowned company “The App Date” took part in it and a jury of experts assessed 51 works from all Spanish regions and belonging to different sectors such as Education, Tourism or Journalism.
The winning work was "Descubre la Geoda Gigante" (Discover the Giant Geode) of Estudio Future developed for the device Oculus Rift which produces the biggest geoda in Europe and located in Pulpí (Almería, Spain). The most popular series of TVE (Spanish TV channel) "El Ministerio del Tiempo" (The Time Mystery) received the special mention of the jury.
The communication keeps being transmitted through the Festival website and its social networks conducted by the association with the hashtags of the event #transmediaEsfestival and #premioMurciaVR. The media reviews on the event are available on the website Urban Espíritu Santo.
