Youthpass now available for the European Solidarity Corps participants
Taking part in a European Solidarity Corps project is a significant learning achievement for any young person. It is an opportunity to develop social and personal competences and gain valuable professional experience by contributing to the work in multicultural teams, solving problems creatively, using a foreign language in managing everyday tasks, living independently in another European country… These experiences help the participants grow personally and can open up opportunities for their future career and learning pathways.
Youthpass aims to enable participants to become more aware of and better capable to present and communicate the learning outcomes they acquired during their participation in the Solidarity Corps. The participants are entitled to go through the Youthpass process, a regular reflection process that helps to keep track of their learning, at the end of which they receive a Youthpass certificate. Whereas the organisations, by using Youthpass, improve the quality and visibility of the value of their work, and contribute to the Europe-wide efforts in recognition of non-formal and informal learning.
While it is recommended to start using the Youthpass process from the start of the project and throughout its life cycle, the launched certificates are also available for the participants of the projects where the activities are already completed.
Youthpass is a European tool to improve the awareness and recognition of young people's and youth workers’ learning outcomes from their participation in EU youth programmes. Since its launch in 2007, close to 950,000 Youthpass certificates have been issued to participants in more than 60,000 projects. More than 25,000 organisations have been involved in this process, contributing to the structural impact of Youthpass.
