LGBTI rights

Unfortunately today in Europe, people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual or intersex (LGBTI) still suffer from discrimination. The protection of LGBTI rights is an issue of high priority.

At an EU level, actions have been taken to advance LGBTI equality, in the policy areas of non-discrimination, education, employment, health, free movement, asylum, hate speech/hate crime, enlargement and foreign policy. The European Commission have sought to raise awareness for LGBTI rights, with the goal being to show the world that no matter whom we love or who we are, everyone should enjoy the same rights.

Take Action

If you see hateful online content directed against LGBTI people or any other communities, you can report it on the Hate Speech Watch website. With homophobic and transphobic being two of the most common types of hate speech, you can make a difference by refusing to tolerate it!
