Creative cuisine in Spain: Imagination and Science in your plate

The creative cuisine is a cuisine with an special creativity and imagination. It is presented as a fabulous and very original way.

This kind of cuisine can be defined as a combination of colours and discovering new flavors.

In Spain, as in other countries, this culinary trend seems to have more and more success for top chefs but also for everyone.

Within the creative cuisine several categories can be distinguished:

The Fusion cuisine is a culinary style that incorporates mixed ingredients of at least two different distinct ethnics or regional styles.

The kitchen " Nikkei " is an example that combines the ingredients of Peruvian and Japanese cuisine.

There is also the molecular gastronomy that is the application of science to culinary practice. The pastry is a special part of the creative cuisine. Cakes, cookies or cupcakes are made with a very original presentation for events.

The Spanish cuisine as well as the European one has known several evolutions over the years. For centuries the traditional kitchen was the principal as stated in this conference "Gastronomy and the Brand of Spain”.

The nineteenth century was the beginning of a new kind of cuisine, the one of the best chefs in the world and the panish chefs have also an international recognition thanks to luxury restaurants of hotels like Ritz or Palace in Madrid.

The Spanish chef Ferran Adrià is currently one of the most significant chef in the world. He’s  is recognized for its innovative techniques in molecular cuisine, as it is to isolate the ingredients of a dish, usually typical, and rebuild it in an unusual way, so that the appearance and texture are completely different while the flavor remains unchanged. Some of his most iconic creations include oysters with an air of false carrot or melon caviar.

There are important events related to cooking in different parts of Spain. During  “Fusion Madrid” meets the best of Spanish cuisine, including Joan Roca, Juan Mari Arzak or Quique Dacosta. The GastroFestival, in Madrid, is dedicated to creative cooking and cuisine. "Cook and Fashion" is an event in San Sebastian that combines fashion and gastronomy. In is celebrated "The creative cook" and also you can find a lot of activities. Moreover contests and competitions between countries take place.

Currently the creative kitchen becomes a "popular" movement, accessible to everyone. You can find many websites, blogs of individuals about creative cuisine. And in Valencia for example you can easily find creative cuisine classes. Moreover since few years the Spanish cuisine has the support of the Foreign Ministry.
