#DiscoverEU photo & video #Competition - Terms and Conditions

Take part in the DiscoverEU Competition and get a chance to win amazing prizes. The central question of our competition is:

What have you explored this year with #DiscoverEU?

Show us what you have explored and discovered during your travels and you could be one of the lucky winners!

How does it work?

The competition will run from 15 April to 31 October 2019.

To take part in the competition, follow these steps:

  • upload a photo or video on your Instagram or Twitter account
  • use #DiscoverEU and #Competition
  • add the location of your content
  • make sure your video has a maximum duration of 15 seconds
  • fill in the survey via

Your photos and videos will be moderated before they are displayed on an interactive map. This may take up to 24 hours during the week, and the weekend entries will be moderated on Mondays.

If your videos and photos meet the above mentioned criteria, you could become one of the #DiscoverEU monthly winners!

How will the winners be selected?

The competition is only open to the selected participants under the #DiscoverEU December 2018 application round.

The public interactions with their favourite photos and videos count! The 20 most popular entries (a combination of ‘liked’ / shared or retweeted and with comments) will go to the next round, as well as 10 ‘wildcards’. Then, a professional jury of photography and social media experts will select up to five winning photos/videos. The most visually original and creative will win.

Up to five lucky winners will be chosen each month, which means May, June, July, August, September and October!

The monthly winners will be contacted via email by ICF Next who is managing the prizes for this competition on behalf of the European Commission. Participants should keep an eye on their incoming messages and make sure they reply within 7 working days to the message sent by ICF Next. With no reply from them, another participant will be chosen as a winner. Then, the winners will be publicly announced by name on the following social media platform(s): Facebook and Twitter.

What are the prizes?

Each winner will receive a prize worth of 100 EUR!

The winners will be announced in the beginning of each month on European Youth’s Twitter and Facebook accounts.
