Problems With Your Rights As An EU Citizen?

SOLVIT will speak on your behalf! This free service was set up to help EU citizens and enterprises deal with authorities and find practical solutions for matters such as the recognition of professional qualifications.

Basically, it is your fundamental right as an EU citizen to live, work, or study in any EU country of your choosing. Unfair rules or decisions as well as discriminatory red tape can make it difficult for you to live, work, or do business in another EU country. If your rights are refused because the authorities in a particular EU country do not apply EU law correctly, SOLVIT can help. SOLVIT reminds the authorities in question of your rights within the EU and works with all parties involved to solve your problem.

SOLVIT is a network of national centres in all EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway. Since its inception in July 2002, SOLVIT has been able to solve more than 80% of the problems presented to the network.

Examples of the help SOLVIT provides to private individuals as well as businesses are published in a brochure. The stories are collated according to the particular type of problem experienced – for example, recognition of professional qualifications, residence permits, or equal treatment (non-discrimination) while abroad. The brochures are available to order or download at the EU Bookshop
