Sport and physical activity can improve your quality of life by giving you more strength and energy & helping you better manage stress and sleep better. Start things rolling with Move Week!

The European week of sport and physical activity is an annual Europe‑wide campaign week promoting sport and physical activity and their positive impact on European societies.

In 2012, the first‑ever Move Week brought together individuals, organisations and cities from across Europe in a large-scale celebration of sport and physical activity under the motto 100 Million more Europeans active in sport and physical activity.

What happens?

During the week, participating organisations or cities organise events to mobilise citizens to come together and participate in sport or other physical activities: clubs introducing non‑members to their sports, walkathons, running events, dance and gymnastic events – any popular activity that can rally people to join in. What will happen in your city?

Coordinator for Move Week 2013 for Sofia is the Association for development of Bulgarian sport. In the capital will be organised various events such as open doors, athletic competitions for children, free demonstrations in different sports clubs, competition for climbing ladders and much more.

Association WOW SPORT, coordinator for the city of Plovdiv, joined forces with other organizations to provide various opportunities for the citizens of Plovdiv to find their move. During the  week from 07.10 - 10.13.2013 in the city of Plovdiv will be organised numerous events: open doors at various clubs, martial arts demonstrations, fair of the sports clubs, innovative workshops on portdesbras, lessons on mountain biking and much more.

Coordinator for the city of Varna is the association FunCity. The citizens of Varna can participate at
diving competition in a pool, a mass folklore dance, open door events and demonstrations and many others.

The cities of Chepelare, Kyustendil, Sliven, Nessebar also joined the Move week. Every day new cities are joining the campaign.

Details of the events and activities in the different cities and participants can be found on the official website of the Move week in Bulgaria.
