If you wish to renew your EU driving licence (because of previous licence expiration), you do not need to undergo a medical check. But the holder of the driving licence is required to undergo a medical check 6 months before reaching 65 and 68 years of age (at the latest on your 65th and 68th birthday respectively). You subsequently have to undergo this medical check every two years.
