Patents – Spain

The procedure to follow for national validation of a European patent consists of the following steps:

  1. Translate the European patent into Spanish
  2. Pay the prescribed fees
  3. Fill in the TPEDEpdfeses form
  4. Send the following documents to the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM):

In order to maintain the European patent's validity over time, an annual fee has to be paid.
