Patents – Estonia

The procedure to follow for national validation of a European patent consists of the following steps:

  1. Submit Estonian translation of the European patent specification to the Estonian Patent Office within 3 months from the date of announcement of the grant of the European patent in the European Patent Bulletin.You will have a further 2 months to submit the translation by paying the state fee for extension of term for submitting the translation of a European patent specification.
  2. Submit in Estonian request for publication of the translation of the European patent specification.
  3. Submit receipt confirming payment of the state fee.
