Short description  In this publication, the SHC reports on the risks involved in the heavy or regular consumption of so-called “energy drinks” and aims at making the population - particularly young people, who are very vulnerable to the marketing strategies of the firms concerned – aware of these risks.
Abstract (focusing on the key recommendations)  As there is no uniform approach to this sort of drinks at a European level, the Superior Health Council confirms its objections to these products and especially recommends that:
 their consumption should be restricted in frequency and quantity (by not exceeding a total daily caffeine intake of 400 mg, or, better still, 300 mg);
