Short description 
Disability is an issue of major
significance to European individuals
and the European economy. To
support policy developments, there is
a need for improved and harmonised
systems to gather statistics on
disability. The World Health
Organisation (WHO) has generated a
model that should assist in this task,
known as the International
Classification of Functioning,
Disability and Health (ICF). There
remains a need, however, to
demonstrate the validity and utility of
the ICF model by analysing actual
practice and statistics.MHADIE will investigate the validity of the ICF model for the
documentation and analysis of disability.
Abstract (focusing on the key recommendations)  MHADIE will investigate the validity of the ICF model for the
documentation and analysis of disability.
The project will:
Use the ICF model to analyse data from existing health
surveys of the general population and the
education sector
Seek to to show that the ICF model is adequate for
describing and measuring patterns of disability in clinical
samples of selected conditions in different countries ...
