Short description  The commission discusses the implications of prenatal (PD) and pre-implantation genetic (PGD) diagnosis for embryo treatment. Here cases for implementation of PD and PGD are considered and guidelines for decision-making are offered regarding who is the responsible party to make a decision about the continuation of a pregnancy or embryo implantation and how to ensure free and informed choice. Expert parental support and quality control of diagnosis are also discussed.
