https://maritime-forum.ec.europa.eu/node/9549_enSet goals: developing ecological awareness and protecting marine biodiversity, Promoting active citizenship and the circular economy. Activities and approach: the entire comprehensive school has been implementing a "marine literacy" program for years, involving all three grade levels. Preschoolers explored nearby marine environments, such as the fishing village; elementary school students were able to observe up close the typical habitats of the Torre Guaceto protected oasis; while first-year middle school students participated in a project with the PlasticFree association and dedicated their week of sea activities to creating crafts using reused and recycled materials. Literacy continues beyond the first grade, with second-year E students spending a day at the Ketos Museum in Taranto, sailing through the Mar Piccolo and Mar Grande to the dolphin rescue center. Activities and approach: the entire comprehensive school has been implementing a "marine literacy" program for years, involving all three grade levels. Preschoolers explored nearby marine environments, such as the fishing village; elementary school students were able to observe up close the typical habitats of the Torre Guaceto protected oasis; while first-year middle school students participated in a project with the PlasticFree association and dedicated their week of sea activities to creating crafts using reused and recycled materials. Literacy continues beyond the first grade, with second-year E students spending a day at the Ketos Museum in Taranto, sailing through the Mar Piccolo and Mar Grande to the dolphin rescue center.
