Local authorities can play a very important role in the promotion of RES through innovative fiscal policies. LOCAL4GREEN, a project funded by the Interreg MED Programme, has been supporting 75 municipalities from 9 countries across the Mediterranean region in the design and implementation of fiscal policies aimed to promote RES and reduce the carbon footprint of municipalities. The session will serve as a showcase of best practices achieved through the pilot project activities and willl revolve around testimonials by mayors that have successfully implemented green fiscal policies.
