This session is part of a group of sessions organised within the framework of the Urban Development Network (UDN).This is a workshop organised jointly by the Urban Innovative Actions Initiative and the European Commission, DG REGIO, and part of the UDN cluster of events at the EUWRC. The objective of this workshop is to introduce in an innovative and interactive way the four topics selected for the UIA 5th Call for Proposals: air quality, circular economy, cultural heritage and demographic change. The fifth Call for Proposals of the UIA Initiative will be launched in September. It will be the last UIA Call in the current programming period, and the EUWRC will be the occasion to announce and present it.
The focus of this launch workshop at the EUWRC will be to bring an in-depth and content-focused presentation of the four topics of the call: air quality, circular economy, cultural heritage and demographic change. The topics will be presented by European Commission experts, who will describe the strategic background and the European policy and regulatory context for each topic.
This workshop will also aim at giving the audience some tips and recommendations from successful UIA projects. Depending on their level of implementation, the projects approved from the previous UIA Call for Proposals will give different types of tips and recommendations to applicants (tips on the application process and on how to draft the application form, tips on the implementation phase, etc).
