Cities are a key actor to tackle present day’s global challenges, especially if we want to reach the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement. However, to reach these goals it is not only sustainable urbanisation in the EU that counts. Urbanisation will be one of the most important trends in our partner countries, and EU cities have large experience on driving it in a sustainable manner. This event will facilitate a discussion on what EU city stakeholder’s may do on the global scene to help fostering more sustainable urbanisation patterns in our partner countries. The discussion will open with an introductory vision from The Commission's Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development, and will continue with an open discussion with two representatives from partner countries and two representatives from European cities.
