The #EURegionsWeekCollege is the 2020 replacement for the face-to-face Masterclass that has taken place in previous years. It is specifically designed for students and early career researchers and forms part of the capacity-building efforts of the #EURegionsWeek partners. With presentations from EU officials and academic researchers it reflects on the ambitious European-wide and cross-sectoral roadmap to being climate neutral by 2015. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and contribute to the discussion.
Previous editions of the #EURegionsWeek have hosted a Masterclass organised by three key learned societies – RSA Europe, the European Regional Science Association and AESOP. The usual face-to-face event is being replaced by sessions open to any students and early career researchers interested in EU regional and urban development and policy. Three sessions will be available for registration.
This webinar brings together EU officials and academic researchers to discuss the contribution of EU Cohesion Policy to the European Green Deal, which sets out a roadmap with actions to boost the efficient use of resources through a move to a clean, circular economy, restoring biodiversity and cutting pollution. The Green Deal presents the financing available and investments needed for an equitable and inclusive transition. The ambitious aim is to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. This will require actions across all sectors of European economies and commitment from all levels of government and all parts of society.
This webinar will present the key actions and challenges involved in achieving these goals and provide an opportunity for discussion and debate between the participants and presenters.
