Future perspectives for EU macroregions

Wed 14, October 2020
11:30 - 13:00 CET

The workshop aims to reflect on the development of the various integrated frameworks for multilevel cooperation in the EU (macroregional strategies, sea basin strategies, other initiatives) in the next decade vis-à-vis the emergence of new challenges and priorities. This theme will be addressed from multiple angles: role of the strategies in post-2020 ETC; EU funding, including outside the scope of cohesion policy; contribution of the strategies to the Green Deal; coordination across the strategies; involvement of third countries. Particular emphasis will be placed on the role of the strategies in helping to tackle the fallout of the COVID-19 crisis. The workshop will be attended by representatives of national and regional authorities from across the various strategies or other frameworks. DG REGIO/MARE will also participate in the panel.
