The 8th bilateral summit between the European Union and the Republic of Korea (ROK) took place on 15 September in Seoul. Leaders discussed the positive state of EU-ROK bilateral relations, cooperation on foreign and security policy and regional issues and global challenges, such as climate change and counter-terrorism.

The Greece debt crisis took centre stage during July's plenary session, as Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras came to Strasbourg to discuss the search for solutions. MEPs also adopted their recommendations for Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and approved a reform of the EU's emissions trading scheme that should boost incentives for green investments.

The European Union and Mexico held the 7th EU-Mexico summit in Brussels. Leaders agreed to reinforce the strategic partnership and modernise the EU-Mexico global agreement. They also agreed to strengthen political dialogue between the EU and Mexico on bilateral and multilateral issues.
