The overall aim of the event is to launch the Early Intervention Toolkit which is the result of the pioneering initiative of the Early Intervention Clinic in Madrid.
This initiative not only demonstrated remarkable impact on patients (with temporary work disability falling by 39%) but also a significant return on investment (11 euro for every 1 euro invested).
Building on this concrete good practice, the European Steering Group (ESG) for Sustainable Healthcare, the Work Foundation, with the Fit for Work Global Alliance and partners, will launch the toolkit to enable wider dissemination and scaling-up across the Europe Union and beyond.
As one of the flagship initiatives of sustainable healthcare, Fit for Work has been endorsed by 10 EU Presidencies since 2009 (Sweden, Spain, Belgium, Hungary, Poland, Cyprus, Lithuania, Latvia, Netherlands, Slovakia). This year’s event is organised under the auspices of the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the EU.
