The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) is organising, together with the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR), EUROCITIES, Regions4 and Platforma, a workshop on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) during the European Week of Regions and Cities.

The COVID-19 pandemic has shown that we cannot tackle new challenges with answers of the past. The recovery needs to ensure that we build back better. We need to win back the momentum of the SDGs and to give priority to cross-sectoral action, in strong alignment with the EU Green Deal, the Digital Strategy, and the European Pillar of Social Rights.

This event will show how cities and regions implement SDGs in a post-pandemic Europe and beyond, and call the EU not to delay their implementation.

  • Highlight the link between SDGs, the recovery, and the creation of resilient societies.
  • Show how regions and cities work together to "localise" SDGs.
  • Call on the EU not to lose the momentum on SDGs and recognise the leading role of local and regional governments to achieve the 2030 Agenda.
