The EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) Director will contribute to the next session of the UN Commission on the status of women.

He will join a high-level panel on accelerating the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, to achieve concrete results by 2020. The declaration and platform were made in Beijing at the UN’s 1995 World Conference on Women. They formed a progressive blueprint for advancing women’s rights with comprehensive commitments under 12 critical areas of concern.

At the margins of the meeting, the Director will also have a series of bilateral meetings with EU Member States delegations and senior UN officials to build awareness of FRA’s work in different areas.
