In normal circumstances, in April the EU Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) would be welcoming people to their stand at AERO in Friedrichshafen to answer questions from the general aviation community and share all sorts of useful information. Sadly, with COVID-19 AERO is cancelled this year and with so many pilots not having had the chance to fly in the past few months, EASA thought useful to host a virtual season opener to help everyone prepare for the summer ahead.
The event will be split in 3 sessions:
- Restarting safety: all the latest news from EASA and the general aviation roadmap, lots of great tips on preparing for the season ahead.
- Coping with weather: Summer weather in Europe will be as unpredictable as always. This session will highlight the role of instrument flying.
- Airworthiness and maintenance: Maintenance of general aviation aircraft is a key part of enjoying flying safely - equipment needs to be operating in the best condition if we are going to reduce accidents and save lives.
