In April 2016, the 1st international Congress on Circular Procurement was held in Amsterdam. The purpose of the 2016 congress was to raise awareness for the concept of circular procurement, highlight good practices, share experiences how circular procurement could be mainstreamed.
We are now taking the next steps. As part of the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the EU, the Estonian government has emphasised the importance of both eco-innovation and circular procurement and will be hosting the 2d Circular Procurement Congress in Tallinn. The congress will act as a platform for purchasers and policymakers to share knowledge and experiences.
The congress is organised in a way that will ensure a maximum of interaction between participants, with several break-out sessions and a market lounge in which specific ideas can be discussed in smaller groups.
