Investing in the future of people

Comme Chez Nous supports people in need in Wallonia

About this project

The EU is investing in the Comme Chez Nous association, which offers emergency housing, healthcare and training to people in need in Wallonia, Belgium. This enables them to get back on their feet and gradually play a more active role in society. In 2018, Comme Chez Nous provided assistance and coaching to 1,037 individuals.

Social reintegration for more than 1,000 people

By investing in Comme Chez Nous, the EU enables people in need to reintegrate into society. The organisation supports people in precarious situations: the homeless, those in inadequate housing or at risk of eviction, and excluded or isolated individuals and families.

Comme Chez Nous provides a wide range of services under one roof; vulnerable individuals are offered administrative help with obtaining housing and basic healthcare, as well as professional coaching and training. The strength of this project is that people in need are being helped and guided along the whole way to social reintegration.

One beneficiary of Comme Chez Nous testifies: “My coaches really inspired me and helped me realise my potential. I have now started a training to become an educator, just like them. I am so proud of the progress I’ve made”.

In 2018, 1,037 beneficiaries were in contact with Comme Chez Nous 19,000 times, demonstrating the organisation’s long-term involvement in their social reintegration.
