In a more complex world, all issue areas of strategic cooperation, including fields such as climate diplomacy, energy diplomacy, economic diplomacy, and cultural diplomacy, will be strengthened. This includes, for example, implementing actions under the Communication on "Towards an EU Strategy for International Cultural Relations." New strategies will continue to be developed to reflect the growing challenges and opportunities of a changing world.
At the same time, many existing strategies are being updated to fit new global circumstances. The New European Consensus on Development – entitled "Our World, our Dignity, our Future" will help realign the EU's development action to the evolving needs of our partners. The European Neighbourhood Policy is also being updated so that the EU can better create stability, security, and prosperity in the countries closest to its borders.
These actions reflect the idea that there is much we can achieve when acting together. That is why the EU will also continue its engagement on the multilateral scene to promote a rules-based order for addressing global challenges.
