Mogherini to travel to the Western Balkans in early March
High Representative Federica Mogherini will travel to the Western Balkans from 1 to 4 March. She will visit Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. During her visit to the region, Mogherini will meet with political authorities, including representatives of governments, of political parties, and of Parliaments.
On 27 February 2017, the European Council adopted conclusions on the EU's priorities on human rights in the United Nations for this year. They show the EU's strong commitment to the United Nations human rights system, including participating in its various fora.
Federica Mogherini meets with US Vice-President Mike Pence
HRVP Federica Mogherini met with US Vice-President Mike Pence on his first official visit to the European Union. This follows Mogherini's recent visit to the US where she exchanged views with her counterpart Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, and other key members of the new administration as well as Congress.
A seminar on EU security policy took place in Stockholm on 7 February. Sweden's Foreign Minister Margot Wallström as well as Deputy Secretary-General of the European External Action Service Christian Leffler gave introductory remarks.
