Evelyne Gebhardt studied linguistics, politics and economics in France and Germany and worked as a freelance translator. She has been a Member of the European Parliament since 1994 and Vice-President in charge of ICT since 2017.

At present she is a member of the IMCO Committee and is the IMCO Rapporteur for the proposal on Contract Law on Digital Content.

She was also inter alia rapporteur for the Services Directive and the Digital Single Market Act.
