The EP Business map is a formal business framework describing what the European Parliament does and how it works. You can discover main usages of the map by navigating it, going from business areas to activities and exploring projects, processes and supporting applications.

Among other things, the EP Business map is used to support the creation of the annual EP IT Programme. The IT Programme is a portfolio of all IT initiatives of the EP: everything that happens in IT, from day-to-day maintenance of the infrastructure, evolutions on existing applications, ongoing and future projects, and much more.

The EP Business map will help identify and visualise to which business activities the initiatives in the IT Programme are related. In this way both the EP Business map and the IT Programme foster a better and deeper collaboration between business and IT, help avoid the multiplication of efforts, and provide visibility and transparency to what is going on in the EP's secretariat.
