The official launch of the European Year of Cultural Heritage in Norway will take place on March 15th, in Freiasalen in Oslo, where Minister of Culture Trine Skei Grande and Minister of Climate and Environment Ola Elvestuen will attend.
The European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 in Norway hopes to stimulate curiosity, enthusiasm and discussion about how Norwegian culture has evolved.
National events in Norway are coordinated jointly by the National Archives, the Directorate for Cultural Heritage, the National Library, the Arts Council and the Norwegian Federation of Cultural Heritage.
- Speeches by Minister of Culture Trine Skei Grande and Minister of Climate and Environment Ola Elvestuen.
- The Director of the Munch Museum in Oslo, Stein Olav Henrichsen, will give a presentation about the murals by Edvard Munch decorating the listed Freiasalen.
- Norwegian folk music performed by the duo Sudan Dudan and ballads from the middle ages performed by FriEnsemblet, lead by Mathilde Grooss Viddal.
