Debra Daly is President of European Youth Parliament Ireland (EYP Ireland) and leads the organisation on its mission to develop an interest in European issues in young people in Ireland.
The EYP Ireland is a non-profit, non-partisan organisation that runs a number of weekend long conferences every year for young people in Ireland that aim to raise awareness of European issues, encourage active European citizenship and motivate young people in Ireland to get involved in European politics. Led by Debra, the organisation seeks to empower the youth to question the world around them and come up with innovative solutions to global problems, while emphasising concepts of cooperation and respect.
EYP Ireland is one of 36 national committees of the European Youth Parliament International - the European umbrella organisation. Over the past twenty-five years, the organisation has become one of Europe's largest platforms for political debate, intercultural encounters, political educational work and the exchange of ideas among young Europeans. EYP consists of a network of nearly 40 European associations and organisations in which thousands of young people are active in a voluntary capacity. The entire network organises about 200 events every year, reaching out to and engaging over 20,000 new participants.
