Bee Health: Video Interviews with Specialists from the US, Kenya and Thailand

As the crucial role of bees as pollinators of the world’s food supply is increasingly becoming common knowledge, reports about the serious decline of honeybee populations in Europe and the USA have alarmed governments, the private sector and the general public. 

Through the support of Gaston Franco, Member of the European Parliament and creator of the European Week of Bees and Pollination, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the European Union (EU) organised the 2nd European Week of Bees and Pollination, 3–5 June 2013 to review why bees are declining and what is being done to help them.

Capacity4dev.eu interviewed bee health specialists Dr Baldwyn Torto (Kenya), Dennis vanEngelsdorp (USA) and Dr Panuwan Chantawannakul (Thailand) to learn more about the situation for bees in their countries.
