Anguilla was due to launch on 18 March the national component of an Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) GCCA Project on Climate Change Adaptation and Sustainable Land Management in the Eastern Caribbean.

The project - which the EU is funding to the tune of Euro 10.6 million - targets all nine OECS member states* and is geared at improving the region’s natural resource base resilience to the impacts of climate change through effective and sustainable land management policy, capacity, awareness and practices as well as the implementation of specific physical adaptation measures, including soil and land stabilization, river and sea defense, forest and ecosystem restoration.

* The OECS groups the islands of Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Lucia, Montserrat, Anguilla and the British Virgin Islands.
