Samson Yemane Hadush is expert in energy policy, market design and regulation. Currently, he is a research fellow at the Florence School of Regulation (FSR) in Italy where he is working on regulation for electricity access and renewable integration topics in the context of developing countries, particularly Africa. He is also adjunct professor at Mekelle University in Ethiopia.
Before joining FSR, he has been working as a post-doctoral researcher at the energy center of Vlerick Business School in Belgium. His research mainly focused on the energy transition in Europe and its implication for power distribution companies, under the research partnership of the center with Eandis and Alliander. He is still active at the school as a voluntary research collaborator.
He has a PhD in engineering science with a focus on power system economics from KU Leuven in Belgium. He also holds a joint Master degree of Economics and Management of Network Industries from the University of Comillas in Spain, TU Delft in the Netherlands and Paris Sud XI in France.
He is committed to contributing to the sustainable production and use of electricity by all societies.
