Pierre NORZERON

I am Pierre Winshell Norzeron. I am currently in Panama, working for the European Commission - Directorate General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), in the Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean. I am a Program Assistant for the Caribbean, contributing to reflexion on environmental initiatives in humanitarian responses and particularly in the disaster preparedness portfolio (Climate resilience), ensuring the Nexus between DEVCO / INPTA and ECHO initiatives particularly to increase resilience of the most vulnerable people and communities (drought, migrants ...).

I am an Agronomist, with a specialization in management of the environment and Natural resources and masters in "project Leadership and System design", "International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid". Currently student at Salamanca University for a Master in Sustenable Management of the Environment.

With 12 years of work in the international cooperation sector (UN, NGOs) including 8 years for the European Union (DG ECHO, DG DEVCO / INTPA) in humanitarian and development projects (Have been Program Manager iN DEVCO) as an expert in the field of social protection (shock responsive social protection), food and nutrition security, risk and disaster management / resilience.
