
Kane Alioune
Pr. Alioune KANE is a teaching researcher who counts more than twenty years of experience in the field of geography, hydrology, environment and integrated management of the ecosystems.
Pr Alioune Kane is present since nearly thirty years (30 years) in the Senegal river basin where it carried out his PhD 1 and 2, field of studies in which it devoted many publications and supervise many works of students. It also took part in many studies and researches devoted to water at national and international levels.
Pr Alioune KANE is one of the first African western specialists trained with integrated water resources management in a basins level. It took part in 1998 in the one of the first courses organized in Sweden and Tanzania by Scandiaconsult Natura AB on this issue. He lead also many teams of research on the questions of water.
Pr Alioune Kane has coordinated during more than ten years the UNESCO/UCAD chair on "integrated management and sustainable development of the coastal areas and the small islands", transformed since two years into master on west african coastal zone. It ensures the scientific direction of the master.
Pr Alioune Kane is currently director of a doctorate school on "water, water quality and water uses" (EDEQUE) of University Cheikh Anta DIOP of Dakar (UCAD) and takes part at many scientific committees.
