Janny Vos
Dr Janny Vos is CABI’s director strategic partnerships, which includes managing the liaison between CABI and the European Commission. Dr Vos is a specialist in Integrated Crop Management by training, and has specialized herself in participatory approaches to agricultural extension and research. She has developed training modules for discovery learning about sustainable production of various annual and perennial crops, among which vegetables, cocoa and apple, but has also been involved in supporting and implementing policies on phase-out of hazardous pesticides. She has been advisor on DFID, SDC, EU, FAO regional and global programmes on Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
Dr Vos has been employed with CABI since 1995, initially in Malaysia at the CABI centre for Southeast Asia, subsequently at the CABI centre for Europe in UK and is currently based in the Netherlands. Prior to 1995, she was employed by the Netherlands government to work in Indonesia as an IPM expert.
Dr Vos has produced over 20 research articles, manuals and books in the areas of integrated crop management / sustainable agriculture, and farmer training and adoption. She has also written numerous discussion papers on pesticide issues in crop production.
