AKIATU MACFOY
I am Akiatu Joyce Macfoy. I currently work at the Evidence, Policy, and Social Protection Section at UNICEF, which means that I support the UNICEF team in achieving the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 1.2, which aims, by 2030, to “reduce at least by half the proportion of men, women, and children of all ages living in poverty in all its dimensions”.
I hold a BA Hons in Library, Information, Communication, and Knowledge Management and a MA in Gender Studies both from the Fourah Bay College University of Sierra Leone. I am currently enrolled at the Njala University Sierra Leone pursuing a MA in Education with an advanced option in Measurement and Evaluation.
My background in Education, Child Protection, and Women's Empowerment informs my mindful but competitive approach. I am fueled by my passion for understanding the nuances of a cross-cultural working environment and teamwork. I consider myself a ‘forever student,’ eager to both build on her academic foundations in Education, Social Policy, Knowledge Management, Women’s Empowerment, and Child Protection.
