    The Governance, Security Human Rights and Gender Unit of EuropeAid is organising a Global Workshop for European Union Delegations from the 18 – 21 October 2010 on fighting corruption. The four day seminar, which will take place in Brussels, will focus on providing specific training to EU Delegations and European Commission staff based at EuropeAid headquarters.

  2. Making Farmers Part of the Climate Change Solution

    To date, the agricultural sector, as a net green house gas producer, has largely been seen as part of the climate change problem. But Dr Alex De Pinto of the International Food Policy Research Institute wants to see farmers become part of the climate change solution. Whether it’s through livestock rearing, rice production or the drying of peat, the world’s agricultural producers are widely accepted as being responsible for between 10 and 14 percent of the world’s total Green House Gas production and thus a contributor to climate change.

The EU delegation in Tblisi has employed a variety of instruments to support its partner, Georgia. Using budget support, technical assistance projects, institutional building projects and thematic line grants, the EU has sought to meet the needs of a transition country still struggling with the consequences of the 2008 conflict with neighbouring Russia.
