On Sunday June 1st, 2014,  the Brussels Capital Region presents this year's
edition of the "Fête de l’environnement," a city-wide celebration of the
environment ahead of World Environment Day (5 June). Every year, various
community and international organisations alike gather to showcase their work
to the public in this family-oreinted event. This year's theme will focus on
the bright future of Brussels, with participants asked to envision their
versions of "Brussels, 25 years from now."

In the context of the global WED theme UNEP, UNODC, UNRIC and WWF will screen
the documentary film ‘Racing Extinction’ (2015) as a CinéONU event on 7
June. The film focusses on the human induced loss of biodiversity and illegal
wildlife trade. A panel discussion will complement the screening.
