Joint Team Europe Initiative between Guyana and Suriname.

The Transformational Potential includes:

• Transition towards circular economy
• Social improvements: poverty alleviation, good governance, human rights
• Economic diversification

The Team Europe Proposal activities include:

• Improved governance, i.e. transparency/accountability for the management of forest resources; Recognition of indigenous people land rights; Business environment; Enabling private investments, etc. 
• Eco-tourism, i.e. Nature-based recovery solutions; Protection of biodiversity hotspots; Job creation for local communities
• Forest carbon offsetting projects: Carbon-neutrality goals
• Mangrove rehabilitation and conservation: Sustainable value-chains
• Livelihood development, i.e. Improving sustainable forestry value chains & Work opportunities for indigenous people
