Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) for the National Waste Management Plan in Montenegro

The primary objective of this SEA was to facilitate a transparent discussion on possible environmental implications of different options envisaged by future waste management system in Montenegro, so as to facilitate decision-making process with regard to available planning options and to assess the impact of all main proposals resulting from the planning process of the National Waste Management Plan for the period from 2014 until 2020. The SEA was initiated by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism in the summer of 2014 and was funded by the European Union.
